Published on 21/11/2023

Covering an area of 350,000 hectares, the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park extends over 53 communes from the Bay of Arcachon to the Landes d'Armagnac. Numerous greenways and cycle routes allow you to discover this protected and unspoilt area. All aboard!

The Voie verte from Parentis-en-Born to Moustey

From Parentis-en-Born, on Lake Biscarosse, the Voie Verte offers a rolling route through the forest to Moustey, 30 km inland from the Landes region. Most of the route follows the old Landes railway line. From Moustey, near Belin-Beliet, cyclists can catch up with the Mios/Bazas cycle route, which crosses the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park from east to west.

In Moustey, the "Sources" loop is well worth the diversions, with its churches, healing fountains and wash-houses. Distance: 11 km, duration: 1h15, departure from Moustey.

From Garein to Brocas, discover the Forêt d'Art by bike

In the unspoilt setting of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, a cycle route accessible to all will take you from Garein to Brocas-les-Forges, to discover the Forest of Contemporary Art. Artists have installed monumental works in the heart of nature. The works in the Forêt d'Art are marked by numbered orange posts. Distance: 21 km, mountain bike recommended, duration: 2h30 to 3h30, level: easy (suitable for families). Starts from Garein, place de la salle des fêtes.

The route passes through the largest forest in Europe and the former brown coal quarries of Hostens, Le Tuzan and Saint-Symphorien, charming towns in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park.
