The Lou Pignada campsite, surrounded by maritime pines and on the edge of the ocean, is set in a natural environment that it is vital to preserve. Our aim is to help preserve this natural environment and, more generally, to reduce the impact of our activity on the environment. Our commitment to the environment meets the expectations of our customers, who are looking for a place to recharge their batteries in the great outdoors, and for ever-higher quality in the services we offer.
Once again this year, we are pursuing this approach on the basis of the European Eco-label for camping services (issued by AFNOR certification). This standard actively encourages the use of renewable energy sources, energy and water savings, reduced waste production and improvements to the local environment.
Our environmental commitments cover :
- Preservation of the natural site.
Active communication policy prohibiting the use of fires outside the designated areas and encouraging the use of waste bins to collect rubbish (see internal rules).
- The use of renewable energy.
100% of our electricity is produced from renewable energy. Some toilet blocks are equipped with solar panels to heat the water.
- Saving energy.
Purchase of efficient equipment (refrigerators, air conditioners and class A light bulbs). At least 93% of light bulbs are class A whenever their physical characteristics allow. We maintain our equipment to ensure its long-term performance. And in the low season, our lighting system for public roads within the campsite is reduced to just one candelabra out of 2, in order to combat light pollution.
- Saving water.
Installation of flow reducers and mixer taps for rapid adjustment of temperature and flow rate, and water-saving toilet flushes.
- Reducing water and soil pollution.
Communication on the ban on discharging hazardous substances into the ground or water, and encouraging the use of waste bins in sanitary facilities.
- An eco-responsible purchasing policy.
Aiming to promote high-performance systems (e.g. systematic key switches, class A refrigerators, etc.) and the purchase of products with environmental labels (paint, cleaning products, etc.).
- An effective partnership with Tree6clope to combat cigarette-butt pollution.
Collecting cigarette butts using a fun and educational approach initiated by Tree6clope to prevent the pollutants that make up cigarettes from being dispersed into nature and the ocean. Nudge ashtrays - in other words, visible collection points that can be used to communicate with smokers by asking them a question - have been placed around every major gathering point on our campsite to simplify the collection of cigarette butts. As a result, the number of cigarette ends found on the ground has been halved.
- Good management of chemicals.
By limiting the use of chemical products at the time of purchase, ensuring that they are strictly dosed when used, and disposing of them in accordance with regulations.
- Good management of waste produced.
Reducing their toxicity (purchasing less polluting products), opting for recycling wherever possible, and sending our waste to approved centres.
We want to involve all our partners (customers, staff, suppliers, managers and service providers) in this approach, which is why we are conducting a communication campaign via the gazette, posters, in-house training courses and by distributing this policy to our partners. This awareness campaign is essential if we are to take effective action.
As Director, I ensure that this policy is implemented and monitored. It will be reviewed every 2 years, following an assessment of our action plan and all the information we have gathered.
We welcome any comments you may have. You can send them to us via our satisfaction questionnaire, complaints form or any other letter.
