Definition: geocaching is an outdoor pastime that involves using satellite geopositioning (GPS) to search for or hide "caches" or "geocaches" in various locations around the world.

📖 In short, geocaching is the equivalent of a life-size treasure hunt, where you learn while you have fun. And local geocaching is embodied by Tèrra Aventura. Thanks to their concept, you can enjoy thousands of hours of walks combining discovery via your smartphone or GPS on a theme defined by the Poï'Z who represents the circuit. The aim of their geocaching routes is to find a final cache hidden in the countryside or in the heart of towns and villages. 📵 Don't have a smartphone? You can print out the roadmap of your forthcoming route and bring something to write on. In any case, you'll need a GPS.

Once your treasure hunt route has been taken into account, you will be defined as players accompanied by the Poï'Z. What are the Poï'z? They're little characters with strong characters who always have stories to tell! Each little imaginary being symbolises a theme for the walk: Zéfaim for gastronomy, Zouti for know-how, and so on.

As you make your way along the route, you'll have to solve mysteries to find the final treasure. With no time limit, you can answer the riddles to see and find the treasure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 1 treasure hunt solved = 1 Poï'Z badge to collect as a reward, in addition to all the great discoveries made along the way. Ain't life grand? 😎

To take things further, the Comité Régional du Tourisme wants to continue raising awareness of responsible tourism. Thanks in particular to Tèrra Aventura's geocachings in New Aquitaine, it hopes to help players learn about and understand the mechanisms of ecosystems.
